New Presidential Politics Blog Let’s Anyone Post: “You The People”
Asylum Communications is testing a new model of blogging that literally lets anyone register and post a blog entry. The blog is not one man’s opinion, but every man’s. “You the People” give the people back their voice.
(1888PressRelease) October 04, 2007 – Trying to find room in today’s blogosphere is growing more and more difficult. Asylum Communications is hoping that they can budge their way in with their new blogging model.
Unlike traditional blogs or blogging communities where there is just one or two contributors- or everyone has their own corner of the blog- the “You the People” blog let’s anyone sign up and contribute, with every post going right to the front page. There are some general rules and guidelines but they are quite unrestrictive. There is no fee to contribute and posters own their own content and can remove it any time they like.
Going by ‘Head Honcho,’ the site master for Asylum Communications explains, “We were on the look out for something new and unique and there is an awful lot of competition doing the same ol’ same ol.’ We don’t know for certain that this will meet a need but we do know that the Internet can surprise you with what works and what doesn’t work. We think it is worth a try.”
The blog, hosted primarily at www.asylumcommunications.com is titled “You the People” in the belief that by giving people a central place to post their content rather than being scattered into their remote parts of the Internet, people will have the ability to go beyond merely stating their opinions, but actually have them heard, too.
